A new start

My Dear Children,

I apologized to you a few days ago for my lack of spiritual leadership.  I don't want to dwell on the past, but I do want you to know I am sorry for failing you in this way.  More importantly, I want to grow in my own faith and provide the spiritual leadership you need from now forward.  I'm hoping to send you small messages here on this blog on the days I am not with you, and when I am with you I want to give you spiritual encouragements in person, pray with you, read the bible together, give thanks together.

Here is the passage I'm meditating on tonight:

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart
         And do not lean on your own understanding.
6In all your ways acknowledge Him,
         And He will make your paths straight.
7Do not be wise in your own eyes;
         Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
8It will be healing to your body
         And refreshment to your bones.
Proverbs 3:5-8

I memorized this verse as a youth.  God really doesn't require very much from us.  Just simple trust in Him.  I did that much better when I was your age.  I need to learn simple trust again.
I miss you all.  Your Daddy
